Abstract

The Law Society is the educational, representative and regulatory body of the solicitors' profession in Ireland.
It exercises statutory functions under the Solicitors Acts 1954 to 2008 in relation to the education, admission, enrolment, discipline and regulation of the solicitors' profession.
The Guide to Professional Conduct of Solicitors provides a statement of the accepted principles of good conduct and practice for solicitors. Those principles are illustrated in the context of practical situations including those situations which are most frequently the subject of queries to the Law Society from solicitors.
