Abstract
This article considers the varied challenges facing UK law schools from reduced government funding, a new regulatory regime and changing requirements from the professional bodies. In particular it considers the impact of proposed changes in the way the profession itself is regulated and the significance of this for legal education. This raises a focus on the teaching of ethics and professionalism at the undergraduate stage of legal education and training and the article proposes approaches which may help law schools to respond.
