Abstract
Dartmouth professor and executive coach to the world's most prominent business leaders, Marshall Goldsmith examines the trouble that leaders face with encountering success and realizing accomplishments. More specifically, Goldsmith notes that even proven leaders are held back by a number of bad habits that are common for individuals widely considered effective leaders. We spend a lot of time telling leaders what they should do, notes Goldsmith, but we don't spend enough time leaders what to stop. Goldsmith urges that the most effective leaders are willing to look critically at how they work and that they can learn to change for the better.
