Abstract
The Law Society of Scotland (http://www.lawscot.org.uk/)is the professional body for Scottish solicitors established in 1949. The Society regulates and represents all practising solicitors in Scotland but has an important duty towards the public interest. All practising solicitors are members of the Society and are required to meet its high standards.
All Law Society of Scotland members are expected to work to and maintain high standards of service and conduct. Through its regulatory and other services, the Society defines and promotes standards of conduct and service to members and their clients.
