Description
The Alexandria Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service is a pre-paid, discounted legal consultation service. For a fee of $50, paid to the Service in advance, clients receive a referral for a 30-minute appointment with an attorney versed in the client's area of need.
Appointments are usually scheduled within 1-3 days of the first contact from the client and take place at the attorney's office.
If the attorney declines to take the case or the client would like a different attorney, the office will set up another appointment at no additional fee with another attorney.
The attorney is not obligated to take the case, nor is the client obligated to hire the attorney.
The selection of an attorney is based solely on the type of law that the case requires.
Special requests cannot be made for an attorney based on sex, race, age or religion.
Bus Line: Metrobus Subway: King Street Station.
Makes referrals to attorneys who speak other languages. Has a modest means program called the John Grad program. For qualifying clients, the attorney agrees to limit their hourly rate to $90 an hour.
