Description
Theme One: What should be the basic competency of a lawyer in the first year of practice in relation to identifying ethical issues and handling them appropriately? For example, what are three of the most important ethical challenges a new lawyer should be expected to encounter and be able to handle (realizing that such challenges are likely to vary by practice setting)?
Theme Two: In assessing the ability to identify and resolve ethical issues, what kinds of performance- based assessments are currently being used in law schools and in practice? How can the use of performance-based assessment be expanded and improved?
