Values, Pluralism, Intuition, and Consistency in Ethical Reason
The questions and exercises were originally derived from various sources and adapted to the legal educational purposes they were put to. Some are common hypothetical thought games, others are taken from real events.
The exercises are adapted from ones used in the Critical Legal Thinking course at Nottingham Law School, and from exercises used across several courses and events involving those interested or studying for some legal services qualification or other. The commentary is written by the teaching staff and represents reflection upon practice in using the exercises and questions. The whole document was written to support a workshop delivered at City University London in 2011 on the teaching of ethics in legal education.
The hope is that the document provides a why and a how for the use of the materials, and the development of other materials to serve the similar or indeed different educational ends.
