This article explores the implications for legal ethics and professional behaviours of Australian data from 2001-2003, recording the values and priorities of new lawyers who have experienced both ethics courses and clinical courses in law school, compared to those who have not. Findings suggest that prior experience of clinical courses makes a positive difference to lawyers' values, but the effects of ethics courses are less noticeable.
